A series of portraits painted by former US President George W. Bush will be on display at the Kennedy Center in Washington, the prestigious auditorium of the US capital said on Wednesday.

From October 7 to November 15 will be exhibited in an extension of the Kennedy Center the collection "Portraits of Courage", consisting of "66 portraits designed by former President George W. Bush in tribute to those who served in the military since the September 11, 2011, "says the Kennedy Center in a statement.

The 43rd President of the United States portrayed injured or traumatized soldiers who served in the military in Iraq or Afghanistan. He met them all personally.

These paintings were first shown at the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Texas before being compiled in a collection released in late February 2017, which rose to the head of book sales in the United States.

In his first term, George W. Bush launched two major military campaigns, in Afghanistan in October 2001, and in Iraq in March 2003.
