The case on the death of Steve Maia Caniço, fallen in the Loire on the evening of the Music Festival, becomes more and more political with a weakened Minister of the Interior.

Proof that it worries the highest point, it is now at the top of the state that the case on the death of Steve is followed. President Emmanuel Macron says he is following the case from his holiday in Brégançon. In Paris, the Minister of the Interior was relegated to the sidelines; it is now the head of government Édouard Philippe who is on the front line .

With his side a silent Christopher Castaner, it is he who unveiled the report of the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) which clears the police, including the intervention to stop the concert in which participated Steve Maia Caniço the night of June 21 in Nantes is widely controversial. And it is still Édouard Philippe who, this morning, wanted to accompany the Minister of the Interior during a trip to Palaiseau.

A mark of support. " The minister is not weakened, " said Édouard Philippe " I have full confidence in him ." " What we want is transparency, facts and responsibilities ," said the Prime Minister. Matignon's recovery of the dossier shows, however, that Christophe Castaner remains in an uncomfortable position.

Target of criticism for his management of the movement of "yellow vests" and for several blunders, he is now under the protection of the head of government while some votes on the left again to ask his resignation.
