“I cast out demons”: mother arrested in Nizhny Novgorod, who beat her son with a hockey stick

A child with traces of beatings on his body was found at the “Nostalgia” hotel on Timiryazev Street in Nizhny Novgorod on the evening of July 28. The boy spent more than a day alone in a hotel room, where there was no food or water. In SU SK in the Nizhny Novgorod region believe that the boy's mother - Maya Mayer - beat her son more than once.

The situation with a beaten child became interested in the office of the children's ombudsman in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Ombudsman Margarita Ushakova told the local media that she had taken the situation under control.

Beaten at the hotel

Mayer and her two children settled in the Nostalgia hotel on July 22, and four days later the woman left there with her monthly daughter, warning the hotel staff that her son would stay in room one for a while. She took her two-month-old daughter to an acquaintance, asking her to look after her. After that, Mayer disappeared.

“Our employee communicated with that woman - she said something about saving her children, and supposedly she needed to be in the hospital with a little daughter, therefore, she would have to leave her son alone for a while. She said she can't pay the number yet. Now she has a debt. Our employee went to meet her, she could not drive the child out into the street. But she threatened her mother that she would call the police if she didn't take the boy, ”one of the hotel employees told RT.

Mayer never returned for her son, so on the evening of July 28 the hotel staff entered the room. They found a boy who was abandoned there in solitude. The investigators who arrived at the scene examined the room and sent the child for a medical examination. They also found ampules from the premises of drugs that the woman was supposed to have injected to her son - they found traces of injections on his body. During the survey, the boy admitted that his mother beat him - allegedly in this way the woman tried to “drive out demons from him”.

The 29-year-old mother of abandoned children, Maya Mayer, was detained on July 29. A criminal case was initiated against her under the article on the torture of a deliberately minor person (Section “d” of Part 2 of Article 117 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). On July 31, the court sent her to the SIZO for two months. The woman will also be assigned a forensic psychological examination. Children Mayer seized the guardianship, they are now safe.

“Young children of the suspect were confiscated: the boy was placed in a social rehabilitation center, and the monthly girl was taken to a medical institution,” the report says in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

A spokeswoman for the agency, Yulia Sklyarova, assured RT that the eldest child received all the necessary medical care, and psychologists also work with the boy. Sklyarov clarified that it is still premature to talk about the severity of injuries caused to the child.

Maya Mayer and her children lived in the closed city of Sarov, worked as a hair extension master. In June, she gave birth to a daughter and soon left for Nizhny Novgorod, without informing her relatives, her sister Olga Kurgozova told RT.

“According to her companion, she left Sarov for a cargo gazelle. On July 31, my sister appeared at the dacha of her parents in a frenzied state, ”said Kurgozova. - I came to him, took my mother, and we went to Sarov to write a statement. She (Maya. - RT ) searched in Pervomaisk, Sarov, Nizhny Novgorod. But she eventually showed up herself, in the same place where she left her daughter — with a friend. ”

Olga admitted that she had not seen her sister for eight years and did not know whether Maya could have entered into some kind of sect. Kurgozova admits that her relative suffered from postpartum depression - in her opinion, this could be the cause of everything that happened.

Olga saw her niece only in the photo when the police found the child. According to the woman, the picture showed a bruise on the girl’s face. She has not yet seen the older child, but notes that she will have to work with a psychologist.

“He is a very athletic boy, he practices sambo, he has been playing hockey all his life, they traveled to different cities with a team. As for the boy's condition, his physical condition is normal now, but psychologically he is very depressed. And he also thinks that the devil is sitting in him, ”sighs Olga.

Relatives Mayer plan to arrange temporary custody for her children, however, according to Kurgozova, she will not be given the eldest child yet. The woman added that now she is trying to find out where her sister settled after moving to Nizhny Novgorod - she wants to take the things of children from there.
