One of Dubai's emir's wives, Princess Haya, who fled the United Arab Emirates in early July to seek refuge in London on Tuesday called for the protection of British justice. The daughter of the late King Hussein of Jordan also appeared before the Family Court Judge of the High Court of Justice in London to claim the guardianship of her children.

It had been weeks since Princess Haya waited for this hearing before the High Court of Justice in London, to which only the British press was allowed to attend. The court must decide on the request for protection claimed by the sixth wife of the emir of Dubai Mohammed bin Rached al-Maktoum against a forced marriage, which could concern one of the children of the couple.

Princess Haya also sought protection from brutality and claimed guardianship of her children, an 11-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy. According to a joint statement issued earlier in July by the princess and the ruler, " these proceedings concern the well-being of the two children born of their marriage and do not concern a question of divorce or finances ".

The hasty departure of the princess, daughter of the late King Hussein of Jordan, made headlines in the Middle East. Several observers today evoke the fate of one of the daughters of the Emirati sovereign who fled in March 2018 and denounced the mistreatment of her father. She has since been brought back to Dubai.
