France took the bronze medal in the 4x100m relay on Saturday, behind the United States, who set a new world record, and Australia at the World Swimming Championships in Gwangju (South Korea).

The reigning European champions give France its second medal of the Korean rendezvous after the bronze of David Aubry on 800 m Wednesday. Clément Mignon, Mehdy Metella, Charlotte Bonnet and Marie Wattel signed the third time in 3 min 22 sec 11/100. The United States, led by their star Caeleb Dressel, who pocketed his 13th world title, set a new benchmark in 3: 19.40, ahead of Australia (3: 19.97).
