An official source in Cairo's security administration said that a "mentally disturbed" person shot at passers-by in the parking area of Ahmed Helmi in a random manner, injuring a number of citizens.
The security services in Cairo received a message from Najdah that a number of citizens were injured by an unknown person.
Later, the security services arrested the accused by firing randomly.
The defendant appeared in a video published by the Egyptian newspaper Al Watan. He answered a person's question: "Why did you not do this?" The accused replied: "I love the caliphate."
