The forces of freedom and change, including the Revolutionary Front, arrived at dawn Thursday in Addis Ababa to agree on the challenges facing Sudan, at a time when the Islamic movement rejected the accusations against it to participate in the coup attempt revealed on Wednesday.

The forces of freedom and change and the Revolutionary Front that they discussed over the days of major files of concern to the Sudanese, led by the transition to democratic rule as soon as possible, and provide a decent life for the Sudanese people.

They said in a statement that they had agreed to expedite the formation of the Transitional Civil Authority, with the first task being to achieve a comprehensive peace agreement that would begin with urgent preparatory measures that would create a climate conducive to peace.

The two parties also agreed to establish a structure that will lead the forces of freedom and change throughout the transitional period, mobilizing the people to achieve the objectives of the revolution, and formulating a unified vision on the political agreement and the constitutional declaration in response to the aspirations of the masses.

The statement said that the agreement discussed war and peace in Sudan, and that the forces of freedom and change aims to open the way for a comprehensive agreement with the armed struggle movements immediately after the transition to civilian rule.

The statement called on regional and international forces to support the Sudanese people in their efforts to ensure their security, stability and dignified lives.

The Sudanese Communist Party announced yesterday that "what is happening in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, as for the participants, and that the Revolutionary Front is part of the alliance of the Sudan appeal."

"The draft constitutional decree enshrines military rule and maintains laws restricting freedoms," the party said in a statement, rejecting "partial agreements aimed at quotas and jobs that reproduce war more deeply than before."

He called on the party to dissolve the forces of rapid support and the armed forces and police, and the withdrawal of Sudanese forces from Yemen, stressing his refusal to interfere in the affairs of other countries.

The forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change called for the organization of marches, Thursday, in the capital Khartoum and a number of cities, "rejected the party quotas." The forces of change emphasized their commitment to the Declaration of Freedom and Change and to the commitment to the Government of National Competencies.

Sudan's ruling transitional military junta last week signed a political agreement with the forces of the Declaration on Freedom and Change, detailing how to share power in transitional institutions ahead of elections.

With regard to the developments of the coup attempt revealed yesterday, the Islamic Movement of Sudan, on Wednesday, its refusal to accuse the military council of the involvement of some of its leaders in a coup attempt.

"The movement has been watching the events since the overthrow of President Omar al-Bashir, and it always puts the security and stability of the country in the forefront, as a prelude to everything, and left the military council to cross the country to safety," the statement said.

The statement added that the movement has remained in spite of its positions, "constantly hanging on the shortcomings and mistakes," and denied the charges against them to participate in the coup attempt and it is ready to provide all evidence to public opinion.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Sudanese army announced that it had thwarted a coup attempt involving Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Hashim Abdulmutallab, a number of army and security officers, and a leadership of the Islamic Movement and the ruling National Congress Party.

The army said in a statement that the coup plan was also attended by leaders of the Islamic Movement and the National Congress Party, the party of President Omar al-Bashir, and detained the participants in the attempt, and are being investigated in preparation for trial.

Sources revealed to the island Net that the arrests affected the Secretary General of the Islamic Movement Zubair Ahmed al-Hassan, former Foreign Minister Ali Karti, and former human resources minister Kamal Abdul Latif.

The sources added that Bakri Hassan Saleh, former Vice President Omar al-Bashir, was arrested and noted that the rapid support forces - led by Vice President of the Military Council Mohammad Hamdan Humaiditi - took over the headquarters of the Operations Department of the Security and Intelligence Service.
