“The Russian Embassy in Pyongyang maintains constant contact with the Foreign Ministry and other competent departments of the DPRK in order to resolve the situation. Employees of the consular department of the embassy met with members of the ship’s crew, ”the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

They noted that the health of the Russians is satisfactory.

Earlier, as reported at the North Korean embassy in Moscow, they expect that the Russian ship and the sailors detained by the DPRK authorities will return to Russia after the inspection.

On the night of July 17, North Korean border guards detained the Russian fishing vessel "Xianghelin-8", owned by the Northeast fishing company.

On board were fifteen sailors - citizens of Russia and two - of the Republic of Korea.
