The renewal completed Wednesday key positions of the Republic in March (LREM) in the National Assembly gave a large bonus to leavers, as well as women with 13 deputies elected for 10 deputies.

The boss of the group, Gilles Le Gendre, who had retained his position on Tuesday in the first round, welcomed with AFP a "won bet" and "strengthening the cohesion of the group."

This mid-term partial reshuffle operation did not concern the "perch" of the Assembly held by Richard Ferrand.

Only one permanent commission at the Palais Bourbon will change hands in October, that of the Defense chaired by Jean-Jacques Bridey, in favor of Françoise Dumas, elected Gard and ex-PS, according to Wednesday's results of the second round of this internal poll .

The other chairpersons retain their seat: this was the case on Tuesday in the first round for Roland Lescure for Economic Affairs, Bruno Studer for Cultural Affairs, Barbara Pompili Sustainable Development; and Wednesday in the second round for Yael Braun-Pivet, who was opposed to Laetitia Avia for the Law Commission, and Brigitte Bourguignon against Fiona Lazaar in Social Affairs.

Hugues Renson will continue to chair sessions in the Chamber as Vice-President of the Assembly. Laëtitia Saint-Paul, MP from Maine-et-Loire and Staff Officer of the Army, will do the same from October, in place of Carole Bureau-Bonnard who had not not represented.

Marie-Pierre Rixain remains at the head of the Women's Rights Delegation, as Jean-René Cazeneuve confirmed Tuesday for the Delegation to local authorities and decentralization. And Laurianne Rossi remains questeure, alongside Florian Bachelier reelected Tuesday.

Pieyre-Alexandre Anglade was elected chairman of the European Affairs Committee. But the current incumbent, Sabine Thillaye, does not wish to postpone his mandate until December, stressing that this non-permanent commission and specific rules was not part of the reworking.

Her entourage told AFP that if her proposal was accepted, she would stand.

In order for Mr. Anglade to inherit the position, "it would have been necessary for the current incumbent to resign, which (...) is not the case, and that the commission in question proceeded to elect its successor, "said Jean-Louis Bourlanges, vice-chairman (MoDem) of this commission, in a statement.

In total, including the seven new secretaries of the Assembly elected on Tuesday, the renewal is effective for 11 of the 23 positions that were vacant. These 11 positions were however not the most important of the LREM organization chart.

"The stability prevails", recognizes Mr. Le Gendre, who explains that the objective set in 2017 was not the "dégagisme" but that "nobody is owner of his post".

In addition, "the parity is reached in a democratic and natural way", welcomed the group LREM in a statement, whereas its members had not wanted to impose it in the rules of the poll. Women occupy in particular 5 presidencies of commission and delegation out of 9.

The majority group will hold its seminar on September 19 in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis), with a particular focus on the ecological transition.
