Former Ecology Minister François de Rugy, accused of excessive spending and globally cleared by the investigations of the government and the Assembly, appeared Tuesday on France 2 in "white man" of "all charges against (him)".
"I appear before you tonight as a whitened man, cleared of all the accusations that have been brought against me," said the former president of the National Assembly. "I never doubted for a moment that I could prove my honesty." Massive meals revealed by the Mediapart news site had plunged the minister into turmoil, resulting in his resignation a week ago.
"All the dinners that Mediapart accused me of are dinners that were part of my duties as Speaker of the National Assembly," he said.
