The leader noted the personal contribution of the head of the organization to increasing the effectiveness of the IAEA.

“I have often personally communicated with Yukiya Amano and have always admired his wisdom and foresight, the ability to make informed decisions in the most difficult circumstances,” Putin said.

Earlier it was reported that Amano, who led the IAEA in 2009, died at the age of 72 years.
