"The Lion King" has been a mouthful of the North American box office for its first weekend of operation, with nearly 192 million dollars in revenue, according to the final figures of the specialized company Exhibitor Relations published Monday.

To tell the adventures of Simba, the director Jon Favreau used a completely new process: the film was shot by a traditional cameramen team, but within a world of virtual reality in 3D. He also called on a cast of stars, like Beyoncé, for the voices of the characters.

The film has already exceeded half a billion dollars in revenue worldwide.

Far behind, we find in second place "Spider-Man: Far From Home", seventh part of the adventures of the spider-man, with $ 21.2 million in revenue this weekend.

"Toy Story 4", with $ 15.5 million over three days, takes the third step of the podium.

In fourth position is "Crawl", a Hollywood production directed by the French Alexandre Aja, great specialist in horror films ("The hill has eyes"), with 6.1 million revenue on the weekend.

The comedy "Yesterday", in which a musician wakes up in a world where the Beatles never existed and where he is the only one to remember their music, is in fifth place, with $ 5 million in three days.

Here is the rest of the Top 10:

6. "Stuber": $ 4.1 million over the weekend

7. "Aladdin": $ 4.1 million

8. "Annabelle - The House of Evil": $ 2.6 million
