“In the Mangystau region, servicemen of the military service of the military unit 99116 Koshelev and Zhamanbayev were injured as a result of a grenade exploding at the training ground,” RIA News quoted the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan.
It is also reported that the circumstances of the incident are being investigated. According to preliminary data, military personnel were injured as a result of security breaches.
One of the servicemen is planned to be transported to Nur-Sultan on Sunday, July 21.
Earlier, Kazakhstan’s President Kasym Zhomart-Tokayev reprimanded the Republic’s Minister of Defense Nurlan Yermekbayev for an incident at the arsenal in the city of Arys, where a series of explosions occurred.
