"The court chose a measure of restraint in the form of imprisonment until September 12 in respect of Oleg Medvedev (before changing the name - Shishkanov)", - RIA Novosti quotes the representative of the court.
She clarified that Shishkanov is suspected of committing a crime under Article 210.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia “Taking the highest position in the criminal hierarchy”.
The suspect can face from 8 to 15 years in prison.
However, he refused to admit his guilt, stating during the trial that he did not understand the “essence of the accusation”.
Earlier, the Investigation Committee reported the detention of Oleg Shishkanov (Shishkan), a “thief in law”.
URA.RU also reported that the leader of an organized criminal group that had committed more than 20 serious crimes from 1995 to 2003 was detained in the Moscow Region.
