Last week-end, a video made the buzz on American social networks: We see a young girl licking an ice cream and then put it back in the freezer of the store. Today, the story has become much more serious. The girl wanted by the police could face up to 20 years in prison.
On Twitter, the video has been shared more than 11 million times. The time of 9 seconds, the girl visibly in a store, takes out a big pot of ice refrigerated a ray, opens it and puts his tongue there.
" Go and lick it, put it back in its place, " directs the director and cameraman. The girl and her accomplice seem to be having fun, but it's a lot less fun to laugh at the Blue Bell ice cream brand. The Texas brand quickly issued a statement: " Food spoilage is not a joke. The safety of our products is our top priority . "
After several days of investigation, the police located the supermarket where the video was shot: the small Texas town of Lufkin. Surveillance cameras could have identified the girl. The so-called "Lufkin licker" would incur a sentence of 2 to 20 years in prison for tampering with a consumer product.
