Iraq has told Washington that its ability to control everything internally will be weakened by any military action the Gulf region may face, said Iraqi national security adviser and head of the popular crowd, Falih al-Fayadh.

"The government of Baghdad will be able to protect the foreign forces present in Iraqi territory, but the outbreak of conflict will make all possibilities open and change its ability to control things internally," he said in a statement to the island.

The official stressed that the crisis in the Gulf region between Iran and the United States threatens international and regional peace and stability, and that its arrival at the military level will cause a disaster in the region will not exclude anyone.

Fayyad said in his meeting with Al Jazeera that there is a growing Arab opinion that calls for resolving the crisis between Iran on the one hand and Saudi Arabia and the Emirates on the other through dialogue.

He also pointed out that the return of Iraq to the embrace of the Arab will not be through the gateway to ignite a new war in the region, and that this was confirmed by Iraq recently during the Mecca summit.
