Maria Sharapova, who has not won a match at Wimbledon since 2015, dropped Tuesday in her first round against Pauline Parmentier while she was 5-0 in the third set.

The Russian, 80th world, had resumed the competition less than a month ago in Mallorca on grass after five months of absence following a right shoulder surgery. She has obviously not quite recovered yet.

In front of Pauline Parmentier, the former N.1 world, who raised the trophy at Wimbledon in 2004, won the first set 6-4 but gave in the second inning tie-break 7-6 (4). She then cashed five games in a row before finally giving up.

The French will face the next round the N.30 seed Carla Suarez Navarro.
