Algerian Parliament Speaker Moaz Bouchareb submitted his resignation yesterday after pressure from political blocs demanding his departure at the will of the popular movement.

The MP of the National Liberation Front bloc, Si Afif Abdul Hamid, the resignation of Bouchareb on the last day of the parliamentary session.

The heads of the parliamentary blocs decided to boycott all the work of parliament until the submission of Boucharab for his resignation immediately.

A statement issued by members of the Presidency of the National People's Assembly said yesterday: "Given the developments in the People's Assembly, which led to the total obstruction and the final disruption of the work of the Council and all its structures, and the popular demands to achieve the democratic transition and the need for a calendar of laws that serve the interests of the people and the nation, To end the political crisis defined by the country, and to meet the demands of the popular movement and the demands of the chairpersons, and to serve this noble institution, so as not to remain hostage to the crisis of a fabricated; for these reasons combined, we call Bouchareb to rationality and submit his resignation immediately from the presidency of the Council Before the conclusion of the parliamentary session ».

The statement was signed by seven heads of parliamentary groups, five vice-presidents and six permanent councilors, APS reported.

The differences have taken control of the deputies of the National Liberation Front Party of the Algerian parliament, and emerged indicators of division and signs of a clear split in the parliamentary bloc, after the emergence of two wings: one supports the Speaker of the House of Representatives Moaz Bouchareb, and the other opposed to his stay in office and demanding to leave.

The dispute became known after the incident of storming the office of Bouchareb by a number of deputies to demand his resignation.

This move was met with great anger by a parliamentary group that condemned these practices and declared their support for Busharch and revealed two wings within the parliamentary bloc of the FLN.

In a statement, the pro-Bochareb group said it fully renounced such actions, which "aimed at the stability of the legislative institution" by planning a group known for its loyalty and support for such disgraceful tasks.

The resignation comes three months after the resignation of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, following protests called for radical reform and the elimination of corruption and nepotism.
