Lagarde suspends his duties as head of the IMF

“It is a great honor for me to be nominated for the presidency of the ECB. In light of this and consultation with the Ethics Committee of the IMF Executive Board, I decided to temporarily abandon my responsibilities as managing director of the IMF for the period of nomination of candidates, ”Lagard wrote on Twitter.

I am honored to have been nominated for the @ECB Presidency. I am in charge of the IMF Managing Director during the nomination period.
