The people of the Yemeni province of Socotra renewed their support for the legitimate government and its official, military and security institutions and their rejection and condemnation of any armed formations outside the framework of the state.

In a demonstration in the city of Hodeibu, the residents condemned the calls and slogans aimed at tearing up the community and spreading divisions and divisions among their children, saying that they are malicious calls and behavior that is alien to their customs and traditions.

Socotra governor Ramzi Mahrous reiterated in a speech to the participants the position of the islanders who support the legitimacy and its institutions and reject any form of military and security informal.

Socotra in May 2018 saw unprecedented tension following the dispatch of Abu Dhabi military force to it in conjunction with the presence of then Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid bin Dagher and a number of ministers.

Following the government's rejection of the move and its insistence on the withdrawal of the UAE forces, Saudi mediation intervened, which led to the departure of those forces from the island away from the armed conflict in Yemen.

Tension in Shabwa
This comes at a time threatened by the elite forces backed by the Shabanah backed by the UAE that it will not bear more security breaches of government forces in the city of Atq, Shabwa province in southeastern Yemen.

The forces said in a statement that no progress was made in the implementation of the mediation committee agreement after ten days, which came against the backdrop of clashes between elite and government forces in the city, accusing the local authority and the security committee of intransigence and delay in the implementation of the agreement.

A source in the mediation committee between government forces and the backed Shabanian elite forces said that the committee had spotted crowds of elite forces coming from the Azzan camp in Shabwa stationed at the eastern entrance to the city.

The source confirmed that the movement of the elite forces is a clear violation of the agreement reached by the parties, and the mediation committee is still working to implement on the ground in contact with the parties concerned.
