“We have installed a slab on which the names of nine people are immortalized: their full names are carved on it, the military rank and a brief history - for which this monument is erected. Moreover, the remains of the soldiers (extracted from the ground in 2015–2016) were buried, which for various reasons we could not bury for several years. Thus, another 25 Red Army men found peace, ”TASS cites the words of the chief of staff of the search squad Igor Sechenov.
He noted that in the future the Russian embassy would install a monument in place of the mass grave.
In May, the Mongolian authorities invited Russian President Vladimir Putin in September to take part in the celebration of the anniversary of the victory of the Soviet-Mongolian troops on the Khalkhin-Gol river.
