According to Zelensky, the decision to return Russia to PACE was made a long time ago and he had no opportunity to influence him.

“I was in Brussels, Paris, Berlin ... And at every meeting I raised the question of returning Russia to PACE. And each of these people told me that PACE is a platform for PACE. That is, the decision was made long ago, ”he said during a briefing in Kiev.

The Ukrainian president noted that all the steps he had taken to prevent Russia from returning to PACE were in vain.

“I did everything that I can, but all this was already post factum. So if our deputies turn to me about what I did not do, then I can turn to them, what they did to prevent this from happening, ”concluded Zelensky.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Vyacheslav Kirilenko said that the PACE had invited Russia to the June session due to the inaction of Zelensky.

On June 26, PACE adopted a resolution confirming the powers of the Russian delegation in full.

After the PACE decision, the Ukrainian delegation left the assembly hall.
