The United Arab Emirates plans to launch the satellite "Eye of the Falcon" to its orbit on Saturday, July 6, 2019 from the French station "Guyana", located on the north coast of South America under French sovereignty at 5:53 am UAE time.

With the launch of 'Eye of the Falcon', the fourth satellite will become the UAE's monitoring mission, bringing the number of satellites to 10, and expected to reach 12 in 2020.

The Moon was designed by Airbus Defense & Space, which provided the platform, and Thales Alienia Space, which ensured the imaging aspect.

The Eagle Eye is equipped with a high-resolution imaging system. Once it enters its low Earth orbit at an altitude of about 611 km, it will begin capturing satellite imagery and send it to the ground control station within the space reconnaissance center.

It is expected that it will be used for mapping, agricultural monitoring, urban planning, urban and urban regulation, prevention and management of natural disasters, monitoring of changes in the environment and desertification, as well as On the control of borders and coasts.

The satellite "Eye of the Falcon", run by the SRC, will add tremendous potential to providing the Center with hundreds of high-resolution, high-resolution satellite imagery on a daily basis, with a short-time re-imaging feature to ensure that all needs are met.

The satellite enhances the UAE's position as a regional center for advanced satellites and serves the armed forces in providing high-resolution images and maps to help them achieve their tasks efficiently and professionally.
