“You know, the whole history of mankind is connected with military conflicts, but after the appearance of nuclear weapons, the risk of global conflicts nevertheless decreased precisely because of possible global tragic consequences for all mankind in the event of such a conflict between nuclear powers,” the Russian leader noted. His words are quoted by the Kremlin press service.

Putin added that he hoped that the conflict between the nuclear powers would not come.

At the same time, the Russian leader added that China is showing sufficient loyalty and flexibility with its partners and opponents. In this regard, Putin does not believe that any such threats will arise from Beijing.

According to him, it is difficult for him to say how much the United States will be able to have patience and not make sharp decisions, treating its partners with respect, even if they disagree somewhat.

"But I hope, I want to repeat it again, I hope that it will not come to any military confrontation," Putin said.

Earlier, Kelly Kraft, a candidate for the position of US Permanent Representative to the United Nations, said that China and Russia are Washington's strategic rivals.
