A former hostess and model said last week that she spent more than 30 million yen ($ 280,000) on cosmetic surgery for 21 years, shocked, because her mother was never happy with her appearance, as she grew older.

Tsubaki Tomomi performed her first cosmetic surgery when she was 18 years old, just after graduating from high school. At the time she was 20, she had straightened her teeth, had an eye-forming process, and implanted chest fillings.

She was trying to improve her appearance, ever since, and did not plan to stop this until the day she died. Although Tsubaki claims to have adopted plastic surgery as a way to keep herself looking young, she says her obsession with her began as a child. Her mother always complained about her appearance, describing her as "ugly" to other people, so she was convinced to make herself look more attractive. Once she has had enough age to undergo plastic surgery, she has done so. Claims to have undergone 300 cosmetic operations, in which more than $ 280,000 has been spent since then.

Tsubaki said that since she was in primary school and throughout her junior high school, her mother was critical of her appearance. Every New Year's Eve, during a local festival, when relatives and friends come and say something, like Tsubaki grew up a lot, her mother replies, "She's an ugly girl." Although she repeatedly asked her mother to stop insulting her in this way, she continued to do so, so the girl was convinced that she was not good-looking, at a very early age, and then turned into plastic surgery.
