The organization also confirmed that hackers could not access data from users of Yandex services.

At the same time they managed to go unnoticed for several weeks.

According to the company, the attackers wanted to get access to technical information that allows to confirm the authenticity of user accounts.

Such information, in particular, could help intelligence agencies impersonate users and gain access to their e-mail.

According to the representative of “Yandex”, the safety of users and the system is a priority of the company and employees make all the necessary efforts to protect against cyber threats.

“Security is extremely important for us, and we use all the necessary tools for this, including cooperating with relevant companies,” the press service stressed.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Justice proposed to adopt a global international convention to investigate cybercrime.
