For its 46th edition, the festival Nancy Jazz Pulsations (NJP), scheduled from 9 to 19 October, invited "rare big names", legends of jazz and pop figures, announced Thursday the organizers Tomblaine ( Meurthe-et-Moselle).

"The watchword is NJP loves all music," summarized Thibaud Rolland, who took the reins this year of the festival, succeeding Patrick Kader.

Jazz, historically at the heart of the festival, invites itself under a big top in the park of the Nursery, in gypsy version with a tribute to Django Reinhardt by Angelo Debarre, Gipsy Unity quintet among others. Then in electric version with Jean-Luc Ponty - "that we rarely see," said Rolland - Guillaume Perret and Liebman, Brecker, Copland quintet.

For the first time, the new English jazz scene is in the spotlight with Alfa Mist and Kokoroko.

Among the nuggets of the festival, known for its eclecticism and its exigency, the Capverdienne Mayra Andrade, who will go on stage at the opening of the 46th edition, the American folk group Beirut - "a rarity", welcomed the director -, or the English Metronomy, to electronic and alternative music.

There should be many spectators applauding neo-soul ambassador Raphael Saadiq, who was forced to cancel last year, and Kyle Eastwood with his musicians.

Other headliners: French singers Catherine Ringer, Lou Doillon, Keren Ann and Aloise Sauvage.

Rock, rap, electro, world music nights etc. are programmed in several places of the city.

Numerous events, exhibitions, animations, concerts and free "jazz aperitifs" will complete the program, including for young audiences, in dozens of places in the city of the dukes of Lorraine. Eight groups will tour in the four departments of Lorraine.

For this edition, the NJP offers five posters, made by graphic designer Philippe Tytgat, on the theme of aviation, with yellow and blue colors.

The presentation of the programming took place for the first time in the Tomblaine aeropole. "We decided to go to the end of the story and present the programming in the middle of the planes," said smiling Claude-Jean Antoine, president of the festival.

Last year, the festival, whose budget revolves around two million euros, had hosted 33,000 paying spectators and 90,000 people in all with related programs.
