Independent: Palestine is not for sale .. Palestinian message to Bahrain workshop

According to a report in the British newspaper The Independent, Palestinians reject the economic vision of the American peace plan in the Middle East and affirm that their message to the Bahrain workshop is that "Palestine is not for sale."

He adds that the US peace plan document uses the word "society" instead of using the "Palestinian state" and that the plan is widely criticized for urging Palestinians to "trade" their national aspirations for economic investment.

The report refers to the statement by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who rejected the plan immediately and said that "the economic situation should not be discussed before the political situation."

According to the report, a senior official of the Palestinian Liberation Movement (Fatah), Jibril Rajoub, echoed what Abbas said, and that member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Hanan Ashrawi, also repeated these criticisms.

The newspaper added that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) openly declared that "Palestine is not for sale."
