In Ethiopia, the alleged brain of the five political assassinations was shot down by the army on Monday, June 24 afternoon. It was the official television that announced it. Brigadier General Asaminew Tsige is presented by the authorities as the person responsible for what they consider to be a failed coup attempt in the Amhara region. The death on Monday of the main suspect sign the end of a run of nearly 48 hours.

On Saturday, early in the evening, gunmen killed the president of the region and one of his advisers in the regional capital, Bahir Dar. The regional justice minister was badly hit. He died on Monday, June 24th. In the hour following Saturday, the Chief of Staff of the Federal Army was assassinated in his turn, in the company of a former senior officer, by his bodyguard.

According to national television, Asaminew Tsige hid in Bahir Dar. On Saturday, he reportedly took part directly in the attack in the office of the President of Amhara Regional State. He was wounded, according to information collected by the local press.

This Monday, the one who occupied the strategic position of the head of regional security tried to flee the city. He refused to surrender, gunshots rang and Asaminew Tsige was killed.

However, does this mean the end of this attempt at destabilization - an attempt confined to the Amhara region, according to the federal government - despite the assassination of the army boss? Internet did not come back. The SMS service is even, at least partly, interrupted.

Were there other national threats? Difficult to go in this direction or, on the contrary, to deny it so much the Ethiopian authorities, as usual, are avaricious in information.
