In Burkina Faso, two new attacks of deadly jihadists took place on Saturday, June 22, in the north of the country. Fifteen people were killed in the localities of Sagho and Toékodogo.

It is the Minister of Defense who announces it. According to Chériff Sy, these two new attacks targeted the localities of Sagho and Toékodogo, in Barsalogho commune, where armed men entered the evening of Saturday and opened fire. Fifteen people were killed, three shops were burned and a dozen motorcycles. The members of the armed group finally escaped by the intervention of the security forces.

Last Tuesday, 17 people were killed a little further north in Belheed.

Northern Burkina Faso is regularly targeted by jihadist groups. The defense minister assured the " determination of the government to ensure the safety of the people ", promises that come as the armed forces launched in May an operation in the Sahel, north and north central regions. Called "Doofu", this operation succeeds another, conducted during March, in the eastern and central-eastern regions of the country, also affected by the attacks.
