“This is a forced restriction imposed by the Russian side, the purpose of which is to ensure the safety of Russian citizens against the background of extremist actions that are taking place now in Georgia,” RIA Novosti quotes him.
Earlier, Putin signed a decree that prohibits Russian airlines from July 8, 2019 to carry out air transportation of citizens from Russia to Georgia.
The document also states that for the duration of the ban, tour operators and travel agents are advised to refrain from selling tourist vouchers for transporting people from Russia to Georgia.
