First Vice President of the Transitional Military Council of Sudan, Lieutenant General Mohammed Hamdan Duklo (Hamidati), has provided support to the Premier League football clubs with half a million pounds as a first payment to each club to enable them to overcome some of the problems they face.

During his meeting with his office at the presidential palace today with the mass of the Premier League clubs, he stressed the necessity of consensus and agreement between the clubs and the absence of nervousness in order to develop the game of football.

Omar Mohammed Abdullah, member of the Board of Directors of Al-Marikh Club, said: "The clubs are grateful for the great support, care and interest shown by the sport of the Vice President of the Transitional Military Council."

In turn, the Sudanese club Al Hilal announced on its official Facebook page that it waived its share in the financial support provided by the Military Council.

"We thank the Military Council for their great interest in sport and their support for the national teams and clubs participating in the CAF Championships in the name of Sudan and all the Premier League clubs," said board member Mohamed Abdel Latif Haroun.
