In the case of Matthieu Belliard, France's deputy insubordinate Eric Coquerel evokes opposition to the privatization bill of Aéroports de Paris (ADP), which transcends political divisions.

INTERVIEW

Several deputies, from France insubordinate to the Republicans, will stand together Wednesday evening, at a unitary meeting in Saint-Denis. Their common struggle? Oppose the privatization project of Aéroports de Paris (ADP) and mobilize the French to organize a referendum of shared initiative on this issue.

"There are great moments in history where, in the name of the general interest, people from different horizons have been able to fight for the same goal as long as it serves the interest of the country", says LFI member at the microphone of Matthieu Belliard, Wednesday evening, on Europe 1. It justifies the presence of deputies of left and right, Wednesday night, in Saint-Denis. "We are together because the goal is beyond us," he insists.

In total, five political parties will take turns at this rally: the northern deputy Fabien Roussel for the Communists, Boris Vallaud for the Socialist Party, François Pupponi of Libertés and territories, Éric Coquerel of the insubordinate France and Gilles Carrez of the Republicans.

4.7 million signatures needed

4.7 million signatures are needed, over a period of nine months, to trigger the process of referendum of shared initiative. "If we stay at this rate, in September, we will have 4.7 million signatures," says Eric Coquerel. With 125,000 signatures on the first day and 79,000 on the second day, the number of signatories is well above the average of 17,000 needed per day, so that the number of supporters of the anti-privatization bill of ADP reaches 4.7 million.
