Instability will prevail across the country on Wednesday, with rain and thunderstorms, as well as falling temperatures.

Weather on Wednesday will be marked by a rainy passage active from South-West to North, preceded by strong thunderstorms on the North-East, according to Météo-France forecasts. After evacuation of the previous rainy-stormy system by the northern borders in the first part of the night, a new active rainy degradation rapidly rises from the South-West towards the center and the north of the country.

Large gusts of wind in places

In the morning the rains will become sustained on the west of the Pyrenees, Aquitaine and Poitou-Charente then will shift towards the west of the Massif-central before going up towards the Center, the Ile de France, the East of the Hauts -de-France and Champagne-Ardennes.

At the front, after a morning becoming chaotic between the interior of the Mediterranean regions and the Northeast, the weather will become very unstable from the end of the afternoon. Showers and storms sometimes strong will develop on the north-east quarter, all accompanied by large gusts of wind or hail. The Mediterranean rim will remain on the sidelines despite some cloud overflow, and showers. The wind from south to south-east quite strong from the Gulf of Lion to the Rhone Valley, will turn to the north-west sector in the afternoon. The tramontane will then reach 70 to 90 km / h peak.

High temperatures only in Alsace

Further west, from Brittany and the Charentes to areas close to the Channel, the day will be less agitated but punctuated all the same waved under a slightly more variable sky. The clearings will be wider on the Atlantic seaboard, but interspersed also with a risk of showers and locally thunderstorms, the evening towards Brittany.

The minimum temperatures will vary between 10 and 16 degrees in general, 17/19 degrees on the extreme southeast. The maximum will show a significant decline with 15 to 20 degrees on a large western half, 22 to 27 in the east of the country, or 33/33 from Alsace to the Provençal hinterland.
