On the second day of his state visit to the United Kingdom, US President Donald Trump on Tuesday sparked a " phenomenal " trade deal with London after Brexit. At a joint press conference, the US president adopted a conciliatory tone with Prime Minister Theresa May, far from the polemical statements that preceded her state visit to the UK.

Theresa May first spoke about the 75 years of Normandy landings in Normandy and the enduring ties forged between the two countries. The Prime Minister who is on the departure did not hide the differences of view between her and Donald Trump on Iran or climate change, but soon raised the subject of a free trade agreement between London and Washington after the Brexit:

" Every morning a million Americans get up to go to work in British companies in the United States and one million Britons do the same thing for American companies in the United Kingdom. Our trade is worth £ 190 billion and we are the largest investor in our respective countries for a total of one trillion dollars. Mr. President, from our first meeting, we had agreed to put in place an ambitious free trade agreement after the United Kingdom left the European Union. Following our positive discussions, I know we are both committed to doing so. "

This agreement that it wishes ambitious as the US president who always in the bidding has, meanwhile, talked about concluding a " phenomenal " trade agreement with the United Kingdom.

Donald Trump wants to negotiate everything

Donald Trump warned that all areas would be on the negotiating table including the NHS, the British public health services . The Prime Minister was quick to ensure that, as in all negotiations, both parties would defend their positions.
