Roger Federer, who is taking part in Roland Garros for the first time since 2015, qualified for the semi-finals by defeating compatriot Stan Wawrinka, former world N3 28th today, in four sets. 6 (7/4), 4-6, 7-6 (7/5), 6-4 in just over three and a half hours Tuesday.
Switzerland's record-breaking 20-point Grand Slam title defeats Rafael Nadal, eleven-times winner of the Parisian tournament, a few minutes earlier than Japanese Kei Nishikori (N.7) in three sets (6-1, 6-1 , 6-3).
