"We are following all this carefully and we have full confidence in Neymar, we know what kind of man and athlete he is," he added.

The president of the CBF was not worried about a possible hostility of supporters towards the star of La Seleçao.

"He's one of the greatest players in the world (...) I think the fans will know how to make the difference, given how important it is for Brazil to win titles," he said. -he assures.

The scandal involving Neymar broke out on Saturday, with the revelation of a complaint by a young Brazilian accusing her of having raped her during a meeting in Paris in mid-May, after two months of exchanges on social networks.

The striker of Paris SG has claimed his innocence, ensuring he "fell into a trap".

Brazil will play Copa América at home from June 14th to July 7th, hoping to win its first continental title since 2007.

Beyond the case of Neymar, the president of the CBF said Tuesday that coach Tite was sure to stay in his post "whatever the outcome" of the competition.

Tite, who took office in 2016, saw his contract renewed until 2022 last July, despite the disappointing elimination of the Seleçao in the quarter-finals of the World Cup-2018.
