Eid is a historic holiday gift. An Islamic tradition has not lost its luster until today

In Lebanon recently, Tarfa said: "Your uncle gives you 100,000 Lebanese pounds (about 66 dollars) a day, and your father takes them from you and gives 50,000 Lebanese pounds to all your cousins ​​... Is this a feast or money laundering ?!"

It seems that the economic situation has made the families of some families in this way, there is no surplus money for gifts and holidays, and people pretend to have received their benefits.

Of course, this situation is not widespread, but it is present in some Lebanese families, especially because of the deteriorating economic situation in recent years.

The meaning of Eidiyah
Eidiyah is the gift given by parents and relatives during Eid, and is translated in the amount of money given by the senior family to the children instead of the gift in kind. Eidiyah is an old custom that gives joy to Eid, and is one of its most important manifestations. It is considered an Islamic custom that has spread over the centuries and has not lost its luster until today.

Adults also exchange Eid
In Lebanese villages, adults are also expected to exchange Eid. Whoever is in the race to throw peace and hope for Mubarak's birthday is entitled to receive the feast from those who gave him the greeting of Eid.

People rush in early in the morning to say: Every holiday you are fine, salutes with their festive entitlement, and then prepare to go down to the squares of villages to meet as many people and compete with them, and then return to the houses to provide Eid to the children.

This habit no longer exists, and the adults have lost their due dues and have to pay the dues from their own pocket.

However, it is still desirable for a husband to offer a wedding to his wife even if she is a worker, and there are those who choose to be romantic placed in a luxurious purse or accompanied by flowers.

As well as Eid al-Adha is still waiting for the children of elderly parents who have stopped working.

Children eagerly await the Eid day to get their Eid, in addition to the Eid clothes and blessings from brochures, sweets and gifts.

The Eidiyah is placed either in a circumstance or given directly from the pocket, and may also be accompanied by a small gift or a dessert.

As for the distribution of Eidiyah, men and women spend money to distribute to the children of the family during the Eid, from their children to the children of the brother and sister, and to the children of the family, relatives or neighbors.

It first reflects the relationship of the uterus to the first degree recommended by the Holy Quran and the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him, and reflects compassion, affection and love in society.

Eidah is divided by a fair division among the children, and each one of them is given according to his age. The older brothers, especially those working for them, give Eid to their younger brothers.

Eid or gift
The value of the Eidah varies according to the salary of the donor. Some families need to set aside a special budget for Eid, accompanied by new clothes, suitcases and duties, in addition to the Eid, which may weigh on the parents sometimes, especially with the presence of a large number of children.

The amount of material in the Eidah depends on the age of the child and the economic ability of those who distribute Eidiyah. Children used to wear new clothes, walk around neighborhoods and homes, and then return home to collect what they collected from Eid.

It should be noted that Eidiyah is the first cash money to be handled by children, of course with the exception of small amounts or daily expenses at school, so they feel responsible for the way to spend or save money.

The boys gather on the last day of the feast to count their "spoils" and show off more. Adiyah may be another gift of perfume, flowers, a piece of gold, clothing, or toys for children;

Children spend their holidays on games, sweets and fun. Some save them to buy some gifts or other needs.

The value of Eid in Lebanon
Some families have made Eidieh a symbol that satisfies the children and does not cause a disability for the parents.

The amounts allocated for the holiday range from 5,000 lira (about $ 3) to 50,000 lira (about $ 33) to middle class families, according to their income, number of children and children.

It should be noted here that many Lebanese deal with the US dollar in their daily journal, and the average rate is between $ 10 and $ 15.

Whatever the value of the feast, it remains a beautiful expression of the tender, the children learn from their parents how to give children, and the child stands in front of the responsibility to spend his money to his joy or save for himself or give it to the most needy children.
