"The United States believes that Russia probably does not comply with the moratorium on nuclear testing," he quotes The Wall Street Journal.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the presence of US-ready tactical nuclear weapons in Europe represents not just a “rudiment of the Cold War,” but a clearly aggressive position.

In 2018, the Foreign Minister, speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council on the issue of the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, drew attention to the situation with the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.

The diplomat noted that Moscow, being a principled supporter of the agreement, calls on all countries on which its entry into force depends, to complete the signing and ratification. He also called for an extension of the moratorium on any nuclear explosions.
