"Volsky district court, taking into account the position of the prosecutor's office, which supported the petition of the investigation, chose a measure of restraint in relation to the teenager in the form of imprisonment for a period of two months," the prosecutor's office quoted RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the teenager accused of the attack did not plead guilty to the attempted murder of a schoolgirl.

The incident occurred at the secondary school number 4 of the city of Volsk on May 28. The injured schoolgirl was taken to hospital with a severe head injury.

Anna Kuznetsova, the ombudsperson under the President of Russia for the rights of the child, called after the incident to help children reduce stress during the exams.
