Dutch Labor (PvdA) thwarted the predictions on the European elections ahead of Thursday the Liberals (VVD) and populists (FvD), whose polls and analysts announced the victory, according to preliminary estimates.
The Labor Party of Frans Timmermans, Vice-President of the European Commission, is expected to win five of the 26 seats allocated to the Netherlands, the Freedom Party (VVD) four and the Forum of Democracy (FvD) of the populist Thierry Baudet three , according to first estimates Ipsos for public television NOS.

The Dutch were the first to vote with the British for the European elections, which runs until Sunday in all EU countries. The latest polls before the vote suggested a victory of the populists of Thierry Baudet, credited with 5 seats, just like the VVD.

It is therefore a surprising victory won by the Dutch Labor Party, easily dominating the nationalists of the Forum for Democracy, according to an Ipsos poll conducted at the end of the polls.

The list led by European Commissioner Frans Timmermans is credited with more than 18% of the vote, twice more than in 2014, when she was only in third position in the voting intentions, a good result. augurs for the "government parties" of the other Member States threatened by the far right and populist movements.

The People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) of Prime Minister Mark Rutte and The Forum for Democracy of Nationalist Thierry Baudet, who were equal in the polls, take respectively the second and third
places with 14 and 11%, according to Ipsos.
