The Paris Bourse closed on a slight ebb (-0.12%) Wednesday, the prevailing caution among investors in the expectation of any new developments on the trade front and the publication of the minutes of the Federal Reserve (Fed ).

The CAC 40 index dropped 6.48 points to 5,378.98 points, in an average trade volume of 2.9 billion euros. The day before, the index finished up 0.50%.

The Parisian market opened close to balance, around which it oscillated a good part of the morning, before going frankly in the red, then to limit its losses.

"Everything turns really around this news of the trade war" between the United States and China, summarized with AFP Andrea Tuéni, an analyst of Saxo Bank.

The ban on exports of US technological products to certain companies deemed "at risk", with Huawei in the viewfinder, opened a new front in the all-out offensive against China by Donald Trump, causing a domino effect.

Several Japanese and British heavyweights in telecoms have announced Wednesday that they were going to spend time Huawei equipment.

The equity markets had however a little bit blew Tuesday after the announcement by Washington of a period of 90 days granted to Huawei and its American partners to adapt, but the respite was short-lived.

"There have been some lifting restrictions but other information in parallel have mentioned the fact that other Chinese companies could potentially be placed on the US blacklist," said Tuéni.

Investors should also pay attention, after the close of European markets, the publication of the minutes of the last meeting of the Federal Reserve (Fed).

"There will be investors on the lookout for any sign to anticipate an even more accommodating shift of the Fed", more and more market operators now expect a decline in rates of the central bank this year, said Tuéni.

To these major topics is added that of Brexit, the British Prime Minister Theresa May having discussed this Wednesday to save his plan of the "last chance", intended to implement the Brexit but which has convinced neither his majority or the opposition, further deforming his authority.
