"Turkey has a little more than two weeks left to decide whether to complete a complex arms deal with the United States or risk severe consequences by concluding an agreement to buy the missile system from Russia," the text says.

According to sources, if Turkey does not cancel the deal with Russia and doesn’t buy US Patriot anti-missile defense systems instead of C-400, Washington will exclude Ankara from Lockheed Martin’s F-35 program.

Earlier, US Deputy Secretary of Defense Ellen Lord said that Washington is considering the possibility of replacing Turkey as part of the program to create an F-35 fighter bomber in connection with Ankara’s desire to acquire Russian C-400 anti-aircraft missile systems.

Expert Edward Lozansky commented on the possibility of the United States imposing sanctions against a number of countries because of the purchase of the C-400.
