The Transitional Military Council of Sudan announced yesterday that it has agreed with the forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change to continue negotiations on the transitional period, taking into account the time factor.

"We concluded with the forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change on the consolidation of points previously agreed upon in the previous rounds, which is the structure of the Transitional Authority at different levels of powers, tasks and the duration of the transitional period," spokesman of the military junta, Lieutenant General Shamseddine Kabbashi told reporters.

"We discussed with the forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change the tasks of the transitional period and were fully agreed upon, and the debate on the structure of sovereign authority was discussed," Kabbashi said. The forces of the Declaration of Change confirmed the agreement on the details of the transitional period.

Prior to the announcement, the forces of freedom and change said that negotiations with the military council, whatever the successes or obstacles faced, is not its ultimate goal, stressing that the construction is completed according to a continuous process of work to achieve peace and justice, political reconciliation and the return of displaced persons and refugees.

The Sudanese forces stressed the importance of establishing balanced and sustainable development, improving the economy, fighting unemployment, improving educational and health services, and looking for the future. "Our sit-ins continue until we achieve our full objectives," she said.

The atmosphere of the negotiating session, which was held at the presidential palace in Khartoum, was overshadowed by a growing expectation that the negotiations should be concluded as soon as possible to block several attempts by parties outside the negotiating table to thwart them or not to acknowledge the results .
