Boeing, for the first time yesterday, confirmed a defect linked to the 737Max aircraft, which had seen two air crashes that killed 346 people and said it had been forced to correct a custom simulator program to train pilots.

In a letter received by Agence France-Presse, the company said that Boeing had made corrections to the flight simulator program and gave additional information to system operators to make sure that the experiment represented different flight conditions.

Boeing did not specify the date in which it noted the defect and whether it informed regulators.

According to the manufacturer of the aircraft, the program used in flight simulators was unable to reproduce some of the conditions of flight, especially those that led to the incident of the plane «737 Max» of Ethiopian Airlines, on the tenth of last March, southeast of Addis Ababa, minutes A few takeoffs, resulted in 157 dead.

The company confirmed that its changes would improve pilot training on simulators.

"Boeing is now working closely with system manufacturers and regulators on these modifications and improvements to ensure that pilots are not disrupted by customers," the company said.

This is the first time that Boeing has recognized a defect in the design of the 737Max equipment.
