After six months of struggle, the "yellow vests" will still demonstrate this Saturday, May 18th. But now, they struggle to mobilize.

" We lose troops day by day, " say the "yellow vests" still mobilized that RFI has contacted. Six months after the first demonstration of November 17, the movement still exists, but it is weakened.

In question, the exhaustion of forces, first. A demonstration every Saturday for six months, it wears. There is also a two-speed movement. Between the protesters of the first days, who demanded in particular more purchasing power, the fall in the price of fuel, and the others to more social demands and who seek to structure themselves, the fracture is consumed.

" This convergence only worked for a while. Today, no one can listen in assembly, "provide several" yellow vests ". There is a dispersion of claims. And that, even Eric Drouet, figure of the movement, says it.

Another factor of mobilization down: police violence. Many are afraid of clubbing and clashing demonstrations. They now prefer to follow from a distance, but remaining "yellow vests". Because if the movement does not mobilize in this spring, it is not permanently on the ground. This challenge remains deeply rooted. And could resurface, on the roundabouts or in the cities according to the discontents and the reforms to come.
