The head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament, Hishmatullah, called for an Iranian-American dialogue in Iraq or Qatar, aimed at managing the escalating tension in the region.

"There is a third factor in rushing to war and destroying the region," Bush said in a tweet on Twitter, although US and Iranian officials denied a war between Washington and Tehran.

Meanwhile, American media quoted US intelligence sources as saying that the recent escalation between Tehran and Washington was a result of a mistaken belief in each other's desire to escalate.

The source added that most of the recent Iranian reactions came out of fear of a surprise war.

The New York Times reported that President Donald Trump told the Acting Secretary of Defense that he did not want a war with Iran.

The media also quoted US lawmakers as saying there was no need to send military pieces to the Middle East.

In the same context, the Reuters news agency quoted sources in Congress confirmed that the administration officials make secret statements about Iran next week.
