The governor of Louisiana, Billy Nongeser, received in a unique manner the American president, Donald Trump, on his arrival, yesterday, to the state.

Nongeser, who belongs to the ruling Republican Party, wore stockings showing the face of the American president, adding to it the tufts of a wig resembling the hair of Trump and hanging on top of the socks.

US media said Trump seemed to "enjoy" the strange scene.

In a shot documented by the photographers' lenses, the governor extended his foot to show a bigger edge than Trump's socks, with the US president pointing to it with his finger, the smile above the faces of the two men.

Gumball Boodle socks are available on Amazon's popular e-commerce website, Business Insider.

Trump arrived in Louisiana to speak at a LNG export facility, as well as discuss energy infrastructure.
