Over the course of two days, Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi organized an exhibition of students' innovations for first and undergraduate students. The students presented more than 70 innovative projects, 39 of which were preliminary engineering projects presented by first year students. , Nuclear energy, clean energy, telecommunications, aeronautical engineering, aerospace, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science and civil engineering, as well as petroleum earth sciences.

"The Innovation Exhibition for First Year and Last Year students highlights the creative abilities of students in creating solutions through the development of prototypes for projects that serve the vital sectors of the country," said Dr. Aref Sultan Al Hammadi, The efficiency of the expertise of members of the academic body, which in turn confirms the pioneering role played by the University of Khalifa in the field of innovation ».

"More than 140 students in the last year of engineering majors have submitted projects during the year that included unmanned aircraft designs, water desalination membranes, sensors, robotics and solar homes. Their innovations included various projects in the fields of aerospace engineering, chemical engineering and engineering Biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and petroleum engineering.

Outstanding projects

Khalifa University organized during the exhibition a competition, the best project of public selection and the best project of the selection of the jury composed of members of the academic faculty in the Faculty of Engineering where the student won the Simon Ammanuel Award Jury for his project "intelligent thermal alarm system for the temperature of the child," while the student ARIAM KHALIFA received the public award for her "Automated Tension Analyzer" project.

The projects reviewed by the students included a smart stick for visual disabilities created by five students: Shama Al-Hajri, Amna Abu Hindi, Devora Yamin, Awish Al Suwaidan and Asma Rachid, pointing to the development of the stick through the addition of a mobile sensor.

Al-Anoud Al-Shehli and Al-Mansoori Salama have created a home-based water desalination device that can be safely used by individuals. It has been manufactured from household materials and tools such as jug and ice and a plastic box that uses heat to evaporate salt water and is able to produce 500 Millimeters of fresh water every half hour.
