She posted the corresponding post on her Facebook page.

“Despite the extreme degree of disunity of the world community, for the first time a decision on the safety of journalists was agreed. And this was done thanks to the unprecedented efforts of the Russian side. The document enshrined Russian priorities with regard to the protection of the rights of domestic media in the Organization’s space, ”she said.

According to her, the document, in particular, reaffirmed the need for unhindered access of the media and residents of the OSCE member countries to foreign news sources and information services, while "not all the countries of the Organization follow this principle."

Zakharova also added that the OSCE noted a number of other pressing issues, for example, the authorities intimidating media representatives, ignoring violence against journalists and unlawful interference with their personal lives.

Earlier it became known that the OSCE member states agreed to adopt a document on the safety of journalists.

In November, OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greming said that the organization was monitoring the situation around the arrest of the head of RIA Novosti Ukraine, Kirill Vyshinsky.
